An Injury to One Is an Injury to All

Progressive International and FOR Demand Release of Kidnapped Kenyan Party Leader.

24 February 2026 – NAIROBI, KENYA

Progressive International, the worldwide organisation uniting leftist movements, and FOR are issuing an urgent demand for the immediate release of our comrade Booker Ngesa Omole, Secretary General of the Communist Party Marxist Kenya, following his violent abduction by Kenyan state police in Isiolo.

Omole, a prominent anti-imperialist leader and active participant in international progressive movements, was brutally seized by police officers in what the party has condemned as a politically motivated kidnapping rather than any lawful arrest.

If Kenyan police continues to hold political prisoner, FOR will demand that the Norwegian Agency for Exchange Cooperation (NOREC) immediately suspend its USD 624,000 grant to TechBridge Invest Africa. Furthermore, the Norwegian Agency for Development Cooperation (NORAD) must halt its KES 69.76 million (approximately USD 538,687) in funding. We will formally demand that NOREC, NORAD, NRC, NORSTIP, and municipal partners withdraw all support unless political prisoner is released immediately.

According to the Communist Party Marxist Kenya’s Central Committee, Omole was subjected to horrific violence during the abduction:

· Beaten severely and tortured
· Brutalised to near death
· His tooth was broken
· His finger was cut with a pen knife

Following the assault, Omole was dumped at Mlolongo Police Station—a facility long associated with extrajudicial killings and systematic terror against the poor and politically conscious.

«This is state violence in its naked form,» the Central Committee declared. «This is repression against the organised working class.»

Omole has been a vocal critic of imperialism and neocolonialism. Just last month, on January 14, 2026, he led protests outside the U.S. Embassy in Nairobi against Washington’s actions in Venezuela.

«We are here to defend sovereignty and independence,» Omole stated at that rally. «Africa has suffered greatly at the hands of not only colonialism, but also neocolonialism. That is why we cannot remain silent when Venezuela is being attacked.»

Following the attack on Venezuela, his party declared: «An attack on Venezuela is an attack on all oppressed nations. An attack on President Maduro is an attack on sovereignty.»

· Immediate medical care and legal access for Comrade Omole
· Immediate end to all torture and unlawful detention
· Immediate and unconditional release of Comrade Omole
· Full public accountability for every officer responsible

The Communist Party Marxist Kenya has struck a defiant tone, interpreting the repression as evidence of ruling-class fear.

«When oppression grows harsher, it is because the rulers are afraid,» the Central Committee stated. «When the police abduct communists, it is because the people are awakening.»

The party invoked revolutionary solidarity: «An injury to one is an injury to all. Touch one revolutionary and you touch the entire people.»

We call now for coordinating an international solidarity campaign of workers, trade unions, youth, student movements, and all anti-imperialist forces to mobilise.

«No prison can contain the will of the people,» the Central Committee declared. «The struggle continues. The people shall win.»

This is a developing story. There has been no official statement from the Kenya Police Service.
