Peter speaks

Happy 4th Of July!

This speech was given outside the US embassy in Oslo on july 4th 2025 by Peter Eisenstein, Deputy Chair of Partiet FOR – Fred og Rettferdighet

Thank you all for being here. This day is important for me because I am a US citizen. And what I am about to say is meant as much for those inside that building as for everyone here.

The fourth of July is independence day in the United States. Fifty-six men signed the declaration of independence – a document that could just as well have been their death warrant were they not to win the war for independence – a war that would last 8 years and not end until 1783.

The so-called American revolution was no revolution at all. In 1763, King George wanted to place limits on colonial expansion. But the white European colonists, who still considered themselves British, were blinded by the greed and arrogance that was the birthright of all white Anglo Saxon Protestants of the time.

As a result, they defied their King in the only way they knew how: they went to war. But the war for “independence” was nothing more than a coup de tête of the local imperialists who were simply upset at the slow pace of land theft and slaughter.

In fact, one need look no further than Mary Shelly’s Frankenstein, written in 1818, to find the perfect metaphor for the monster Europe had created but could no longer control.

Only when this settlement colony became the United States did the real genocide – and the expansion of slavery – begin. Genocide and slavery were the twin sins of the nascent American empire. Genocide and slavery remain the only two alternatives the US offers its client states. You either allow yourself to be enslaved or, ultimately, you will be killed.

This is always the case with imperial powers and their victims. Just ask the Australian Aboriginal peoples, the East Timorese, the Indians and Bengalis, and the Africans of many nations. And now, the Palestinians.

Don’t be fooled by Zionist Israel. Yes, it is evil. Yes, it is conducting a genocide, after decades of ethnic cleansing. But Zionist Israel is but a tool used by the United States.

Of course, Europe is in on it. While it is important to remember all European genocides, it is only the Holocaust where Europe was allowed to blame others. In this case it is the Palestinians who must pay for a crime they did not commit. To this day, the EU and most European governments support US Zionism, the true expression of which is genocide.

Another tool is Russophobia. Zionism and Russophobia are two sides of the same US imperial coin.

There did not, and does not, have to be war with Russia – for the simple reason that Russia does not want war. The documentary record is clear on this:

  • Minsk I and Minsk II.
  • The draft security treaty that was not even considered by Stoltenberg and his Washington paymasters.
  • It was not Russia that expanded ever closer to Nato.
  • It was not Russia that invaded Europe through Ukraine five times in four centuries.

To deny that this war was provoked – and desired – by Nato is the same warped mentality and the same twisted logic that would deny an ongoing genocide.

While we are taught the myth of Western values, the lesson we must learn is that the West has no values, only interests. The supreme interest is to funnel wealth and riches ever upwards.

The height of the British Empire gave the majority of Britons only misery and poverty. The vast riches stolen from other lands went into the pockets of very few British elites. The United States empire of today offers its citizens little better.

I don’t know how many of you here today have actually visited the United States. But the infrastructure is decaying, the social fabric disintegrating. Nearly 20% of American children live at or below the poverty line. The American healthcare system ensures health for the wealthy, pauperdom to the middle class and an early death to the poor. The education system in the US does not rise to the level of a joke. And despite having only 5% of the world’s population, the US accounts for a full 25% of the world’s prisoners. Remember that the next time someone tells you about the land of the free.

This is the country our leaders want us to emulate. Whether it be a an old man crippled by dementia, or a con-man in his prime, the US President is always someone our European leaders will blindly follow. And it is a sign of our mental enslavement that we, the citizens of a so-called democratic Europe, allow our leaders to do so.

Never forget: All of our European leaders praised Biden – a man who did not know what flavor ice cream he was eating. These same leaders now not only praise Trump, but have also promised him 5% of all we produce. By way of comparison, Norway spends less on education – still below 4% – than the 5% Støre and a united Storting has promised Trump.

And we in Norway follow along without a word of dissent. There is not a single party in the Storting which is willing to stand up to the US. In fact, they all defend their actions. Ask any slave owner and they will tell you, the most productive slaves are those who do not know they are enslaved.

We are superfluous to the US; we are but a buffer to be sacrificed in order to weaken Russia now that the initial sacrificial lamb of Ukraine has been so meaninglessly slaughtered.

Like a Mafia Don running a protection racket, the US President tells us he will protect us. And why should we doubt the United States’ desire and ability to protect us? We need only ask those whom the United States has promised to protect before, such as the people of Haiti, the people throughout South America, the people in Nicaragua, El Salvador, Honduras, Guatemala, Vietnam, Indonesia, Irak, Afghanistan, and the Ukraine.

In each and every case, the United States fought against the people in order to install a government that we in the West could do business with.

But why should we worry? Europe is different. Europe is the shining example of Western democracy, Western liberalism, Western tolerance. The US would never sacrifice Europe.

But the Frankenstein’s Monster of European imperialism has already come home to roost. We see it in increased poverty levels, school closures, health care reductions and failing infrastructure. At the same time, the US has been given sovereignty over vast areas of Norway. Twelve military bases and surrounding territory over which the United States – not Norway – has sovereignty. This is just some of the price we must pay for- for- for what, exactly?

American founding father Benjamin Franklin said, “Those who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety.” His words are as true today as when he said them in 1755.

The land and treasure we give to the US is not meant to defend us, it is only meant to momentarily satiate the quenchless thirst of US masters of war. Worse still, the real price we pay is not in treasure but in the freedoms we sacrifice – the freedoms of speech, of the press – and our freedom of dissent. We have sacrificed our sovereignty for the fool’s gold of security.

We must break with the United States as long as it insists to rule the world by diktat. Any Storting Representative who supports the continued alliance with the US is a Representative that supports war, enables ethnic cleansing, denies genocide, and provides for the continued subjugation of Norway to a despotic regime for which Donald Trump is simply the most recent and most naked of leaders.

We must break with the USA!
Free, Free Palestine!
Hands off Iran!
Peace for Ukraine!
Happy 4th Of July!
