Frafall tiltalen mot Jill Stein

Jill Stein about the case
Peter Eisenstein, FOR International leader

Bare to ble tiltalt.

  1. Frafaller all tiltale mot Jill Stein.

Drop the charges on Jill Stein

Struck by police. Then charged with assault.

About 100 people were arrested at a peaceful campus protest against the war on Gaza. Two and a half years later, only one of them is still being prosecuted: the presidential candidate the students asked to stand with them.

The case

On April 27, 2024, hundreds of students, staff and local activists at Washington University in St. Louis marched to demand that the university stop investing in Boeing. Boeing has supplied Israel with weapons for decades, including weapons used in the assault on Gaza.

The students asked Jill Stein, then the Green Party’s presidential candidate, to stand with them. She did, linking arms with demonstrators who included St. Louis elected officials. After several hours, police declared the protest illegal on private property and arrested roughly 100 people.

Only two were charged. The charges against the other person have since been dropped. Stein’s have been pending since March 2025.

Jill Stein is falsely accused of assaulting police and trespassing, for standing with students peacefully protesting the Gaza genocide. Police claim she hit a bicycle officer with his own bike and kicked another officer. Stein says the bike struck her and she was thrown onto her head.

Why this matters in Norway

Norway’s own Oil Fund refuses to own Boeing shares on ethical grounds. In the US, demanding the same thing from a university ends in handcuffs and a court case.

These charges threaten the right to free speech and protest for all of us. They also threaten our right to demand a foreign policy that serves people, not arms makers, tech billionaires and the military-industrial complex.

We demand that Washington University and the prosecutor’s office:

  1. Drop all charges against Jill Stein.
  2. Restore students and faculty involved in the protest to good standing.
  3. Acknowledge that opposing genocide is not antisemitic. It is an affirmation of Jewish, Muslim, Christian and all humanitarian values.
  4. Divest from and end cooperation with Boeing and every corporation arming and profiting from genocide.

They’re calling for the charges to be dropped:
